History of this Vintage Dobro Guitar. First, I am not a Guitar person, inherited this guitar from a brother. I sold this guitar on ebay before, the person that purchased it, worked on it, he installed new strings, in the process he apparently broke the neck away from the body of the guitar (or maybe it was loose but I did not know it, because one has to loosen the strings to find that out) the buyer first claimed that the guitar was damaged in shippment, he then changed that to "Item not as described", he put in a claim to PayPal and Paypal refunded him his money, despite my objections that he tampered with the instrument, but Paypal would not back off, as I understand it PayPal always favors the buyer, The neck is apparantly not fully mounted to the base, but with the strings on there is no evidence of that. The guitar has a Patent # 1872633 I checked that # out with the US Patent Office, an R Dopera filled for a patent on this instrument or one like it,on June 29 1929 a patent was granted on Aug 16 1932. Forgot to mention that there is a fret missing in the area where the neck meets the body, don't know if it was missing before I sold it on ebay. I show a picture of the guitar with that missiong fret. If you have questions I will try to answer to the best of my ability as I know very little about guitars or any musical instruments,
